
A police sergeant has appeared in court charged with rape and other sexual offences.
Kevin Storey, from Melrose, Roxburghshire, faces a total of ten charges including assault and rape, attempted rape, indecent assault and assault to injury.
The 46-year-old made no plea nor declaration and was released on bail when he appeared on petition at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Monday.
His case has been continued for further examination.
Storey is based at Galashiels Police Station in the Scottish Borders it is understood he has not been suspended but is not at work.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm that a 46-year-old serving officer has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of alleged violent and sexual offences.”
